USPS® Proposes Temporary Price Increase That Affects Commercial Parcels

On August 14, 2020 the USPS® filed notice with the PRC (Postal Regulatory Commission) of a temporary price increase for USPS® Commercial Parcels effective October 18, 2020 – December 27, 2020. This temporary increase does not affect any metered mail rates or international rates. Affected Commercial domestic “competitive price category” parcels: First-Class® Package Service, Priority Mail®, Priority Mail® Express, Parcel Select and Parcel Return Service. This temporary price increase is in response to increased expenses and heightened demand for online shopping package volume due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and holiday shipping. Retail and metered mail customers will be unaffected; this only applies to commercial shippers who have access to CBP or CPP (Commercial Rates).
